time to play catch up

i finalized the new apartment - yay!

test drove the mini coop, scared the mini coop sales guy - who, on his spare time races motorcycles - i enjoyed driving the car, it has a bit of pep but the roads are quite narrow.

went to Edinburgh and had a fantastic time with JoPo - thanks again JoPo, you Rock! found out that when booking flights out of Gatwick, don't plan the return too late. otherwise it makes getting back to Reading really tough and a long journey. didn't get home until 3am.

i had to endure three days of trade show tomfoolery which included a night of not getting to bed until 4am only to have to get up at 7:20am that morning. thursday was an incredibly long day.

lost out on a wicked deal for a used mini but found another and had to coordinate the paperwork trail. have yet to see/drive it.

picked up keys to new place

found out about frustrating banking idiosyncracies the hard way. so even though a sign might say they accept foreign drivers licenses as a form of ID, they don't. a canadian one isn't 'recognized'. what the sign does NOT say is that they really only accept UK or EU drivers licenses as a form of ID. no wonder people don't read signs - they lie.

joined in on beer festivities with the ultimate team - which consisted of a big white tent propped up in a park with concession stand, food stands, portable washrooms (not port-a-potties, these were rather decent) and stands that held an incredible amount of kegs, bottles of beer (one we tried was 9%), wine, port, and cider

ouch. and the next morning i was introduced to the saying 'the beer monkey has my head in a vice'. shocker.

i have to say that joining the team has provided me with a fun social group to hang with. however, they are t-r-o-u-b-l-e but in a very fun way. just found out that the team has been invited to Worlds in Australia for November of this year. such great news. i'll keep you posted.

i'm now packing the apt up for the move on friday. thank goodness it's not as daunting of a task as it was leaving home since i didn't unpack absolutely everything. or maybe i'm just getting used to the routine. heaven forbid!

that's about it for now folks. looking forward to finally getting settled in my new digs. new digs which - by the way - is in a great location for those of you still planning on a visit.

(hint hint)

Since they lie at the banks then it's no wonder they need an "Early May Bank Holiday". They're probably thinking up one now about Mini Coop drivers. Be careful out there huney!!
